Massie criticizes the CR as a "Uniparty deal," highlighting its funding of USAID while neglecting border wall funding. He argues that agreeing to the CR weakens the Republican mandate and perpetuates government waste.

"I'm not voting for the Continuing Resolution budget," Massie declared. "Why would I vote to continue the waste fraud and abuse...?"

Trump's Call to Arms

Trump, infuriated by Massie's stance, has called for a primary challenger and compared him to Liz Cheney. In a Truth Social post, Trump accused Massie of being an “automatic ‘NO’ vote on just about everything” and a “grandstander.”

Trump also criticized Massie's past votes on the debt ceiling, calling a delay orchestrated before the 2020 election a "horrendously stupid move" and a "catastrophic mistake." He reiterated his call for a primary challenge, stating, "The Great People of Kentucky are going to be watching a very interesting Primary in the not too distant future!"

Massie Stands Firm

Massie, unfazed, retorted with a touch of wit on X (formerly Twitter), "POTUS is spending his day attacking me and Canada. The difference is Canada will eventually cave." He clarified his voting record, stating he's never voted for a CR that became law and emphasizing the 8% cut in discretionary spending included in the debt ceiling bill Trump referenced.

"Do the research and you will find I have been consistent," Massie added.
